Dr. Searight was a president of the Memphis Spanish Club and Little City Society for Retarded Children. He was a member of Memphis Country Club.

Dr. Searight, retired from private practice in the late 1950s but did not cease his medical services to the community. He later served on the medical staff at both Memphis Veterans Hospital and Oakville Memorial Hospital, retiring from Oakville staff last September. Until his hospitalization March 8, he had been substituting in the Alcoholic Unit of Marshall County Hospital in Holly Springs, Miss. Earlier he had been on the teaching staff of both University of Tennessee Medical School and Baptist Hospital School of Nursing.

He was a medical officer in World War a member of Phi Chi Medical Fraternity and a co-founder of Memphis Chapter of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. He was an hunter, golfer and fisherman in his early days. He was a former member of University Chickasaw Country Club, Tennessee Club, Horseshoe Lake Club, Hatchie Coon Hunting Club and Wapanocca Club. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Kathryn C.
